After playing the larger-than-life hero in "Naran", Mohanlal plays Ramesan, a middle class Government employee, in Blessy-directed "Tanmatra". This offbeat film will see Meera Vasudev make her debut in Malayalam. She plays Mohanlal's wife with two adolescent kids. Says Mohanlal, who has knocked off fivekilos for the role: "I am very excited about this film in which I play a state secretariat employee who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, a role I have never done so far. The film is shaping up well and will be ready for Christmas." "Tanmatra" has Nedumudi Venu, Pratap Pothen and Jagathy Sreekumar in supporting roles.
