RESERVE BANK OF INDIA (NOTE REFUND) RULES, 1975 (amended up to 1980) deals with Re-issuable Notes, Soiled Notes, Imperfect Notes, Mutilated Notes



There are various rules like Rule 9(1)(b), Rule 9(2)a, Rule 7 to determine the value of a torn/cut/mutilated/un-current/worn-out/burned/washed/rat/cockroach bitten indian currency note depending on the value of the currency.

This video below explains how our note is refunded from RBI or any bank in India (better option is to contact RBI directly) in exchange of torn/cut/mutilated/un-current/worn-out/burned/washed/rat/cockroach bitten currency. The facility is provided at the counters of RBI Regional Offices located at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Belapur (Navi Mumbai), Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram.
