Solar Eclipse at Russian-China on August 1

A total solar eclipse will occur on August 1, 2008 as the new moon passes directly between the sun and the earth making its shadow. The shadow of moon will fall on parts of Canada, Greenland, the Arctic Ocean, Russia, Mongolia, and China. Most of these are partial but this one is a Total Solar Eclipse!

The longest duration of the solar eclipse’s totality will occur in Russia and last for about two minutes and 27 seconds on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 8:50:00 AM IST.
You can watch the solar eclipse online on august 2008 at the website of the Exploratorium’s eclipse expedition team. The live images will be from the remote Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China near the Mongolian border. NASA says "this region is noteworthy as it offers some of the most promising weather prospects along the entire eclipse path"

“The Rise of Jihad, revenge of Gujarat" is the subject line of a 14-page e-mail sent to select television channels Indian Mujahideen.The "Indian-Mujahideen" claimed responsibility for the serial ahmedabad blasts in Gujarat.The email from Indian Mujahideen reached the media five minutes before the first bombblast from alarbi_gujarat@yahoo.c (Al Arabi)

According to various newspapers the contents of email include.
references to local incidents in Maharashtra at Jalna, Yavatmal, alleged humiliation of Muslims on Western Railways. It had no mention of the Bangalore blasts.

“To the Maharashtra government and Vilasrao Deshmukh and R.R. Patil, we announce the deadline to take heed before it is too late. Don’t think we are unaware of the SRPF (state reserve police force) attacks on our Masjids and our homes…”

Demand release of SIMI activists held on terror charges
“You agitated our sentiments and disturbed us by arresting, imprisoning, and torturing our brothers in the name of SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) and the other outfits in Indore, Ujjain, Mumbai, and in other cities of Karnataka.
