The Chinese New Year 春节 2011 date is on February 3. The year 2010 was year of Tiger , and it will be the Year of Rabbit in 2011.

The main celebrations include
Dragon dances/Lion dances
Fireworks - In a place where anyone can burst crackers, for getting job, getting married , the new year fireworks will be huge
Family gathering
Family meal
Visiting friends and relatives
Giving red envelopes - The envelopes traditionally contain money as gifts that parents or relatives give to children at Spring Festival, showing how much they care about and love the children.
Decorating with duilian (對联)
During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns. It officially ends the Chinese New Year celebrations.
