The transaction charges details for booking rail tickets at irctc.co.in using various modes of payment are as follows. I think if the amount is less then Rs.555 pay using your credit card ( after selecting Citi Gateway) . Then the charges will be less than Rs.10. If the amount of rail ticket at irctc.co.in is greater than Rs.555 use the option to pay using Net Banking facility as the charges will be always Rs.10.
You can also see that for Federal Bank, Punjab National Bank etc does not charge any money. So it is also good to open an account there.

I have booked a ticket while round across India, but without paying to TT I think its very difficult task to get your seat confirmed, PNR status if IRCtC website is not more than a Joke, I have register my complaint with railway officials and also with the consumer court India, but shocked to see too many complaints against the irctc people, just visit http://www.consumercourt.in/railways/57774-pnr-status-pnr-status-complaint.html and give me the reply what’s going on while the India Railway, we should raise our voice against them.
I would suggest people should go for Kotak Trump Credit Card. As this is the only card which give cash back on Transaction Charges and its free for life (Hope its free for new customers also).
