3 iPhones = 1 TataNano!!! vodafone.in/iPhone
Today Vodafone said iPhone 8GB will cost 31000 Rupees.(712 USD) We have to pay 10,000 rupees via cash or creditcard to book iPhone and then get an appointment to pay Rs.21000 .
Here are some of the discussion around iPhone in blogosphere.
The general feeling among Indian bloggers on iPhone is that it is a "Daylight robbery". Unbelievable price. Too expensive. Then there is HTC diamond(26K) / Moto Razr V9(12-14K). India still to get 3G. Some bloggers also believe that apple will reduce price.
One of the reason it is expensive with Indian Vodafone is that it is not tied up to any rental scheme. If you have a vodafone connection you can use same connection in this too. If a person from Singapore can buy iPhone from India and use it on a cheap rental basis there. There is no prepaid scheme for iPhone in Singapore!. As in India SingTel 3G video calling won't work on iPhone device. So if you compare it with rental schemes the price is at par... but the phone is just expensive as everywhere not only in India as shown in equation 3 Apple iPhone = 1 Tata Nano

Today at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, India's Abhinav Bindra won the gold for the Men's 10m Air Rifle final after shooting a total of 700.5. He is thus the first Indian individual gold medallist at the Olympics. He out-scored all other shooters in the finals with a round of 104.5.
