Soundarya is the younger daughter of filmstar Rajinikanth and his wife Latha Rajinijanth.Soundarya is engaged to Ashwin Ramkumar, an entrepreneur. Her older sister Aishwarya Rajinikanth, is married to actor Dhanush and is a television personality. She completed her high school at The Ashram, a school founded by her parents and run by Latha Rajinikanth. She got engaged to Ashwin Ramkumar, scion of a Chenni-based construction family. The Company run by the family is K.S.Venkatraman & Co. P Ltd. The engagement ceremony took place at Hotel Park Sheraton in Chennai on 17th Feb 2010. The Chief Minister of the State attended along with his family.

Soundarya Rajinikanth (born September 20, 1983) is a film graphic designer, producer and director in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India who has contributed in several Tamil films. Soundarya Rajinikanth is most popularly known for her work in Anbe Aaruyire. She is the youngest daughter of movie star Rajinikanth and entrepreneur, Latha Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth debuted as an actor in 1975 under the direction of Putanna Kanagal. He was later favoured in portraying antagonistic characters and gradually rose to acting in lead roles. After the release of his 1978 Tamil film Bhairavi, he became known as the "super star" of Tamil cinema, which was the title given to him by film producer S. Thanu and till this date used by many people to refer to him. He also appeared in the cinemas of other nations, including American cinema. He was paid Rs. 26 crores (approximately USD 6 million) for Sivaji, making him the highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan.
